Some utilities stick to doing one thing and one thing well, while others incorporate a number of related features for those who need a little more umph. Desktopple Pro is just such a utility. As we've mentioned before, Desktopple Pro is a powerful app that helps neat-freaks and podcasters alike to hide their desktop icons and display custom wallpapers either at the click of a mouse, or even automatically when starting some apps. What many (potential) users don't know, however, is that it can also automatically hide apps that are sitting idle in the background of your workspace, depending on a user-specified time limit. This means that some users of other similar apps that are designed specifically to perform this one chore - like Spirited Away and Shoo Apps - might be able to remove one more task from Activity Monitor, as Desktopple Pro has you covered.

You know how some commercials give you a sense of deja vu? All over again, as the great Yogi Berra might add? TUAW reader Matt S. found this Euro 2012 football championship commercial over on Youtube and passed it along to us. It's not exactly Costello-level-Music but it's certainly Flathead-esque, especially with the la la la's at the end. And the animation with its desaturated main figures on an animated background evokes the feel of Apple's recent iPod commercials. One of the YouTube commenters states that the song was performed by the Ukraine's TNMK band.

Our blog buddies over at Engadget put us onto this funny little tidbit. Apparently annoyed at some fans who doubted his identity (as "Walter B") while trolling a discussion forum on his forthcoming movie, Mr. Die Hard put up rather than shut up. Challenged to prove his identity Bruce Willis offered to video iChat one of the biggest doubters, who duly posted the evidence for everyone to see. Well it's good to see that when he's not saving the planet from terrorists, asteroids, or other baddies, Willis is willing to defend his artistic integrity in online forums with his Mac.Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
