- iPod owners want iPhones

In a completely unsurprising survey, employed adult mobile-phone users who already own iPods are the most likely demographic to consider purchasing an iPhone. Cellular News reports that 20% of those adults surveyed would consider purchasing an iPhone. That number rose to nearly 50% when iPod owners were questioned.
On the whole, Nokia emerged as the clear leader among the "next purchase" crowd. Also, more than half of the European consumers surveyed expressed an interest in mobile TV, particularly for sports matches and reality shows. Consumers requested both a watch-able form factor, which the iPhone looks ready to delivery, and long battery life, which is still unknown as far as the iPhone is concerned.

OK, it's results time. Apple released speedier and roomier MacBooks earlier this week, with a black model priced $125US more than an identically configured white model. We asked: Would you cough up the extra greenbacks for a black MacBook? Here are the results:
A full 52% of you said "I ain't payin' $125 for paint." The remaining votes were pretty evenly split between the other two options - "Absolutely, it's beautiful" and "I'd consider it."

The turbo.264, Elgato's hardware based H.264 encoder, is now shipping. As we mentioned it will set you back $99.95 but Elgato claims it will improve encoding speeds on Intel Macs by up to 4 times (only when using the H.264 codec). The turbo.264 includes an encoding app, but it also speeds up encoding in iMovie, Final Cut, and other popular apps (to quote their website).

Following on last summer's massive European iTunes giveaway, Coca Cola has announced they will once again be partnering with iTunes. Between May and August, promotional packs of Coca Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero will offer the chance to win free songs, free iPods, and free tickets to over 100 Coke+iTunes sponsored summer concerts across Europe. Presumably the free music codes will once again be limited to five per customer.
