  Griffin Technology continues its apparent quest to offer every possible iPod accessory imaginable with the Dock Adapter for the 2nd generation iPod Shuffle. Using the adapter you can plug your shuffle into any iPod accessory with a Dock connector, such as one of the many iPod speaker systems or alarm clocks. Though the Griffin page does not make this explicit, there appears to be a slide switch that selects between music and charging.
