  AppleInsider has some nice, high res photos of the new orange iPod shuffle, the first orange iPod. You can check them out here.*
  
  Note that Apple has packaged new earbud headphones with the colorful shuffles. If you still prefer grey but want the new headphones, get a package with black lettering, and not green (those are the "old" ones, which contain with the original headphones).
  
  *Yes, at the end of the day it's just pictures of an iPod, but you still looked, didn't you?

• The Border Mail asks "Do iPods make people forgetful?"

  Are iPod users more forgetful? Less social? Dumber? The Border Mail offers an article that suggests that the latest workplace tool has its negative points. The article quotes Anil Sabharwal, a recruitment expert, who says that iPods used to help train employees and offer local color tips, might be used--hold onto your hats now--to listen to music, discouraging interaction among staff. What a shocker. In other news, water runs down hill and the universe continues to expand. As for the bits about forgetfulness and dumbness, we, um, forgot what we were going to, er, say about the topic.

• iChatUSBCam hits version 2.2

  Ecamm Network has updated its popular iChatUSBCam software to version 2.2. The updated iChatUSBCam, which allows you to plug a USB webcam into your Mac and use it in iChat, includes support for many new USB cameras and a bunch of fixes and enhancements. For just ten bucks, the software lets you bypass having to track down a now non-existent iSight, and use an inexpensive camera from your local CompUSA or Walmart instead. You can pick up a Logitech Notebook QuickCam, for example, starting at under forty bucks.

  If any house says "Living la vida Apple", this Flickr Find certainly does. Walls lined with monitors, a Classic II bar (all wired up, with 28 vintage Macs on display), iPod posters on display, iMacs as wall art and more. It's either a staggeringly beautiful expression of Apple design appreciation or a scary borderline obsession with all things Mac. I vote for the former.

• Airport Extreme 802.11n Enabler for Mac

  Not only did today bring us colorful shuffles, it also marks the availability of the Airport Extreme 802.11n Enabler for Mac. You'll recall that the following Macs have 802.11n built in, but it is disabled:
  
  • MacBook Pro with Core 2 Duo
  • MacBook with Core 2 Duo
  • Mac Pro
  • iMac with Core 2 Duo (not the 17-inch 1.83GHz model though)
  Before you plunk down your $2 for this enabler make sure that your Mac doesn't already have 802.11n enabled (very recent Macs ship with 802.11n enabled). The product page for the Enabler has directions to find this out.
  
  Airport Extreme 802.11n Enabler for Mac is available now for $1.99, and since it is a download you can get it within moments of paying for it.
  
  Update: As has been pointed out (and which I took for granted), if you are planning on buying one of the new Airport Extreme base stations you need not buy this separately. It'll come with the base station.

  You'd think there would be dozens of fabulous widgets to choose from for Valentines day. You'd be wrong. The Valentines widget selection involves mighty slim pickings. Here are a few widgets we googled up for your romantic pleasure. You can create your own semi-custom Widget using Ben Kazez's Valentine Maker, offer an "I Love You" translator from Boer Attila or really dig deep at the bottom of the barrel with a couple of promotional widgets, including one for Britney Spear's new perfume.

  Valentine Maker Create a custom Widget for Valentines day, from the maker of the John Edwards widget. You choose the color and the words.

  Helzberg Diamonds Valentines Day Countdown Count down to Valentines day with a fairly unsubtle promotional widget from Helzberg Diamonds.

  Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy Valentines Day Countdown Clock It's even more awful than the name suggests. Probably the worst Valentines day widget out there. Heck, this might be scraping the bottom of the barrel for all widgets in existence.

  The Love Translator Translate the phrase "I Love You" in to bunches of different languages.
