I've been following Bill Gates's Vista media tour with extremely mild interest this week. He was on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night (incredibly boring and not funny) and nearly every other outlet in the last 24 hours.

Most bizarre for me has been watching him highlight features of Vista and pretend that Microsoft invented them. These include his note-for-note rip-offs of iLife and a UI that owes a hell of a lot to OS X. The above YouTube clip from CNN is pretty funny, as the host pushes Gates toward admitting his continued inspiration in Cupertino.

It's the one question that Bill Gates can never handle. It's so awesome.

Apple threw in its latest headphones with its newly colorful iPod shuffle line, the only significant feature addition over the model rolled out in October. I got the earlier rev, so I have the same janky earbuds my 3G iPod came with years ago. And now I have buyers' remorse. Whatever.

iLounge brings up an interesting point, however. While you're a lock to get the nicer, better-performing Apple iPod Headphones with a colorful iPod shuffle, if you're into silver, you could head home with the earlier version. What's the key to getting the new? Look at the box. Old shuffles had green lettering on their packaging. The new ones use grey. Thanks for the tip, Jeremy!
